Global warming is real and man-made, but this is not the end of the world. The problem is not as big as we imagine. People can easily deal with it. The changes in climate and geography are actually manageable, and in many cases benign. According to a study done by Nicholls, Tol, and Vafeidis, the people affected by global warming might be a lot less than te scare stories of global warming alarmists, writes Bjorn Lomborg in Project Syndicate.

World Bank President Robert Zoellick has stressed on the importance of confronting climate change as a development challenge and taking action to adapt and mitigate. "Climate investment funds have been established through a very inclusive and consultative process that’s been in support of the Bali Action Plan. Our first priority will be to help vulnerable countries learn how to integrate climate change considerations into their development strategies."
Gaza residents brew their own fuel for cars

In face of rising gasoline prices and oil shortage, the residents of Gaza City in the Gaza Strip have come up with their local recipes for automotive fuel. Combining small amounts of gasoline with domestic cooking oil, they have found a cheaper alternative. However, it is having its ill effects. Health officials worry that the use of this fuel can lead to respiratory and digestive problems and cancer. Diaa Hadid and Ibrahim Barzak report.
